Nick Haag grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts playing any and all sports he could get involved with. As a naturally athletic person, he always stood out among the competition. Coaches noticed early on that there was something very special about Nick, particularly in football, a sport where Nick always excelled. In high school, he was the captain of the team and quarterback of his school’s Super Bowl titles during his junior and senior seasons. Following high school, he went on to play football at U-Mass where he played in all 11 games as a linebacker and on special teams. Following a transfer to Assumption College (D2), Nick started three productive seasons, became a two-time All-Northeast-1 selection and captained the team in his final season. He led the conference in sacks as a junior and had 33 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, 4 quarterback hurries and a pass breakup in his senior season. In December 2012, Nick participated in the All-American Bowl and was named the games MVP.
Nick is a truly rare athletic talent that excels at everything he puts his mind to. Coaches describe him as a leader, hard worker and intense athlete that treats every practice like the Super Bowl. He’s got a lot of energy and is able to focus his efforts exactly where it needs to be. Nick has a lot of passion for the game and his hard work and determination shows every time he steps on the field.
