Has been described by his offensive coordinator as a player who has sure hands and can win match ups no matter where you put him. Team first player that always had the sideline involved in the game and played 3 different special teams in order to give the team the best chance to win. Being able to put him at fullback, tight end, and receiver has given him a great arsenal to be successfully any match up. Matt totaled 38 catches for 450 yards and 7 touchdowns after only being at the program for one year as a graduate student. He is a bright kid who can learn a new offense quick and use his football smarts to get open. Two-year letter winner at Elmhurst College Totaled 637 yards and eight receiving touchdowns with the Bluejays Named to the D3football.com Team of the Week (September 19, 2017) after hauling in a pair of touchdowns, including the go-ahead score, in EC's 23-20 win over North Park Tied for the team lead with five receiving touchdowns in 2017 After acclimating to his new team in the first few games of the season, Brachmann surged to a very productive role in the Saints offense this fall. Midseason Highlight tape: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3nCQ1mRPmgI

Matt has played at tight end, full back, and receiver. No matter where we put him he knows his responsibility and will execute it without worry. He is very coachable and great to have at practice. This work ethic and versatility allowed him to be first team all conference for tight end. Being able to put Matt outside allowed for us to throw him fades and then be able to use him as a decoy in the run/pass game. Matt was a former college basketball player which has allowed him to be able to move very well on the field and has helped him to block well in space and get separation when running routes.
