Bio

Coming out of high school, Russell Byrd was one of the top recruits in the country (#61 on ESPN 100). Byrd was admired by scouts for his ideal size, frame, jump shot, range, and basketball IQ. At Michigan State, he was voted as co-captain by his sophomore season and enjoyed three wonderful years that included a memorable game-winning three-pointer against Big 10 rival, Iowa. In three years, his teams would go to the Sweet Sixteen twice, and the Elite Eight once. Russell transferred to The Master's College for his senior season. In a storybook tale, The Master's College traveled to East Lansing to play a pre-season game against the Spartans where Byrd scored 22 points to go along with six three-pointers.  After the season, he was named an NAIA All-American honorable mention with averages of 19.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg, and 3.5apg

Russell is a 6'8 Guard/Forward with a superb offensive game and lights out shooter.

In 2015, Russell was selected in the 3rd round of the D-League draft, before ultimately landing in Spain for his Rookie season with Lucentum.
